2011 -- Family Fishing - Ft. Stewart - National Hunting and Fishing Day

Family Fishing Event at Stewart
Pond 30 will be well stocked and the fish are likely to be biting for the Family Fishing Event from 7-10 a.m. on Sept. 24.
The event is to give family members a chance to enjoy time together fishing, as well as in observance of National Hunting and Fishing Day. Permit and state license fees will be waived. A limited number of poles will be available and bait (worms) will be provided while supplies last.
Active duty soldiers and their family members are invited. A fish-cleaning station will be set up by DPW Fish and Wildlife.

2011 -- Charlie Elliot Wildlife Center - National Hunting and Fishing Day

This event is for children 15 years of age and younger. Adults are encouraged to assist but will not be allowed to fish. One rod per child. Bring your rod and reel to Dove Pond for a fun filled morning of fishing. Dove pond is stocked with large channel catfish. Anglers need to be prepared for some real line stretching. So bring ample equipment to land catfish up to 5 pounds. Children will be allowed to harvest 5 fish per individual. Suggested baits are nightcrawlers, livers, and hot dogs. Equipment will be available if needed.
2011 -- Richmond Hill Fish Hatchery - National Hunting and Fishing Day

The Richmond Hill State Fish Hatchery will hold its annual Outdoor Adventure Day in honor of National Hunting and Fishing Day. Kids fishing ponds will be open to children age 15 and under. Participants will need to bring their own fishing gear and bait. Archery and kayaking opportunities as well as the Laser Shot Hunter Simulator will also be available. Free hotdog and drinks for participants.

Enjoy a day on the water with the kid's fishing event and canoe instruction. On land live animal shows in including a snake show will be offered. Children may learn more about hunter’s safety at the archery range, BB gun range and the laser shooting system. Hot dogs and cold drinks will be available. $5 parking.
