2009 -- 25th Annual Louisiana NHF Day Celebration
Location: Waddill Wildlife Refuge, 4142 N. Flannery Road, Baton Rouge, LA
Date: Saturday, Sep 26, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM  
Past exhibitors and demonstrations have included Red Stick Fly Fishers, Louisiana Bayou Bluebird Society, Louisiana Hiking Club, J.B. Salter's Jiggin Poles, Louisiana Wildlife Federation, plus many more.
National Hunting and Fishing Day is open to the public and all activities, food and drink are free of charge. A tasting booth will feature area chefs preparing and serving wild game and seafood samples to the public. Soft drinks are provided by the Baton Rouge Coca-Cola Bottling Company, and Associated Grocers will provide hot dogs.
The event is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Associated Grocers, Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation, The Advocate and Louisiana Fish Fry Products.
Minden's NHFD will take place at the Bodcau Wildlife Management Area (WMA) off of Bodcau Dam Road in Bossier Parish north of Shreveport. For more information on Minden's NHFD event, please call 318-371-5210.

2009 --  First Shots Program Offered on NHF Day

This Saturday, Sept. 26th, is National Hunting & Fishing Day (NHF Day). In connection with NHF Day, Ranges in Connecticut, Oklahoma, Florida, Louisiana, New Hampshire and Ohio will be hosting First Shots seminars on Saturday. There is also a program in Phoenix, AZ on the 24th. If you know someone who wants to get started in recreational shooting, attending a First Shots seminar can be a great way to go. Organizers provide everything one needs — guns, ammo, targets, safety gear, and instruction. Here’s a list of Ranges that will be holding First Shots Seminars in connection with NHF Day:
