Come celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day as the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) and the Mississippi Wildlife Federation (MWF) host Outdoorama on the Rez at Turcotte Education Center, on Saturday, September 26, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is open to youth 15 years and younger. The Turcotte Education Center is located at 506 Hwy 43 at Ross Barnett Reservoir.
Participants will receive hands-on experience in a variety of outdoor activities such as shooting skeet, sporting clays, and bow and arrows and fish for catfish in the fishing rodeo ponds. They will also learn how to reload shells, tie flies, paddle a canoe, and stay safe in a tree stand. Other topics include the importance of clean water and recycling.
