2009 – Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Celebrates National Hunting & Fishing Day

The Elk Foundation, Boone and Crockett Club and KYSS-FM are hosting the event.
In celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Day, RMEF’s Elk Country Visitor Center is hosting a variety of activities for hunters, their families and others who enjoy the outdoors. Featured attractions will include:
• Antler scoring by Boone and Crockett official measurers
• Fly fishing skills by Missoulian Angler
• Bear safety by Becoming an Outdoors Woman and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks
• Collecting and identifying aquatic bugs by Grizzly Hackle
• Youth archery with 3D targets by Brodie Swisher
• Wildlife art for youth with Jack Burton, RMEF featured artist for 2010
• Wildlife Passport game for youths
• 2-gun raffle by RMEF 5 Valleys Chapter
• Laser Shot video hunting game in visitor center theater
• Interpretive trail tours, scavenger hunt and educational materials
• RMEF membership specials, merchandise sales
• Free refreshments, hourly door prizes, lots of gifts and giveaways

2009 – Fish Fun Day

The goal for this year's Fish Fun Day is to have 150, 3rd grade children from local schools visit our educational stations and participate in an art contest. The stations will include Fishing Equipment and Casting, Aquatic Habitats, Fish Anatomy, Fish Identification, Aquatic Nuisance Species, and a display area for a self tour. We also will utilize our new Nature Trail and have learning stations throughout.
