Location: NYSDEC Region 8 HQ, 6274 East Avon-Lima Rd, Avon, NY 14414. From I-390 Exit 10; Take Route 5&20 East 2.3 miles (approx 1.0 mile past NYSDEC), Turn right on Poplar Hill Rd. Head south 0.9 miles to parking area where you can take Shuttle Bus (8:30am - 4:30pm) to and from the event.

2011 - Department of Environmental Conservation Salmon River Fish Hatchery - National Hunting & Fishing Day

Event Description: A full day of children’s activities, fishing seminars and outdoor programs are planned for this year’s 16th annual open house on National Hunting and Fishing Day, at the state Department of Environmental Conservation Salmon River Fish Hatchery. The event takes place rain or shine. There is no admission charge. For more information see flyer.
On Friday evening September 23, at 7 p.m. the Lake Ontario Tributary Anglers Council will sponsor a fishing seminar with a panel of speakers discussing successful techniques used to catch Pacific salmon, steelhead and summer run salmonids in the Salmon River. The seminar will take place in the hatchery auditorium. Participation is limited to 75.
