Event Description : With more than 15 hands-on, interactive exhibits and demonstrations, Wildlife Expo is a great way to learn more about the natural environment and the important roles that hunting and fishing play in North Carolina's fish and wildlife conservation. Activities at the Wildlife Expo include: Shooting a BB gun; Seeing live birds of prey; Testing duck and goose calls; Seeing live mammals, frogs, turtles and snakes; Touching genuine animal skulls and pelts; Learning how to fly-fish; Kayaking; Learning about North Carolina’s proud hunting heritage; Fishing; Discovering aquatic insects; Participants age 15 and younger can register to win lots of great fishing-related prizes, including a free guided fishing trip, gift certificates from A.K. McCallum and the grand prize, a lifetime sportsman license, generously donated by the family of John E. Pechmann.

Event Description : A day of fishing at McKinney Lake Fish Hatchery. For $20, each participant receives a rod-and-reel combo, tackle, Fish-For-Fun bags and a Greenwing membership, which includes a quarterly youth magazine. Lunch and beverages provided for participants and their families. In addition to fishing, a BB gun trailer, fire truck, wood duck trapping/banding demonstration, and retriever demonstrations.
