2011 - The Upstate's 5th Annual 2011 National Hunting and Fishing Day

Description:  AN OUTDOOR FAMILY ADVENTURE On Saturday, October 1st, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m at the World of Energy in Seneca, we will celebrate the great outdoors again. The Upstate’s 5th Annual 2011 National Hunting and Fishing Day is designed to celebrate with those who enjoy the outdoors and encourage others to get outside. Visitors can participate in more than 20 outdoor activities. Experts will be on hand to teach children and adults how to safely fire air rifles, the art of archery, kayaking, dress in camouflage for serious games of hide and seek, and much, much more - making it a fun-filled day in the outdoors for the whole family. All events are free. Guests can bring a picnic lunch or purchase food from the onsite concessionaire. Event parking with free shuttle from Hwy. 130. The event is a partnership between Duke Energy, Upstate Forever, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, Clemson University 4-H Shooting Sports, Trout Unlimited, Clemson Extension 4-H, South Carolina Wildlife Federation, Harry Hampton Wildlife Fund, and the Weatherby Foundation. Events and Demonstrations include: Air Rifle Shooting, Archery, Fishing, Butterfly Exhibit, Butterfly Gardening, Camo Games, Fly Casting and Fly Tying, Fishing Simulator Game, Kayaking, Wildlife Artifacts (Snakes and Critters), Retriever Demonstrations, and much more to include exhibits hosted by conservation organizations.
